You can never be sure if someone is using your computer while you are away and it is difficult to say what he or she uses it for. If someone is using your computer without your knowledge or consent, you can use Keyboard Tracer to record his keyboard activity. While running, the application will monitor the keyboard and it will log keystrokes, combinations, function keys and more. Unlike other similar programs, Keyboard Tracer does not use too many resources, which makes it undetectable.

There aren't any difficulties to encounter while setting up the application on your Windows powered computer. Keyboard Tracer's installation file is 1.15 Mb large and the setup process is straightforward. The wizard will not create a desktop icon, but you can find the .exe file in your specified folder or in the Start menu.

A good piece of news is that you will not find too many options on Keyboard Tracer's interface. It is very clean and simple and you only need to click a few buttons to start or stop recording, see the logged keystrokes or access the application's general settings panel. All buttons are located on the lower edge of the interface and the application will not prompt you for anything when you click them.

The software runs in the system tray, but you can bring up its interface at any time. If the recorder is active, Keyboard Tracer displays when it was activated, the elapsed time and the number of pressed keys, which increases automatically as you type. The log is saved as a plain text file, in a default folder, but you can change its destination, on the settings menu. You can open it instantly with the appropriate option on the interface. The log contains the time and date on which the recording has started and stopped, the used application and the keystrokes themselves.

Pros

Keyboard Tracer is capable of saving keystrokes or used function keys. All you have to do is click a Record option and close the interface. The application works in the background and you can hide its system tray icon.

Cons

It is not possible to lock the interface with a password. Keyboard Tracer will record anything from simple keystrokes to complex combinations. Due to its simplicity, you just need to run it, activate it and hide its interface.
